I'm Elise and I make stuff. That's who I am and that's my job. I am happiest when I am creating something new and exciting. To stay inspired, I set goals. Monthly goals for the little things and birthday goals for the big things. Read more about goal-setting here.

I started a blog on Christmas Day 2005 because I believed I had something valuable to say. For better or worse (mostly better) I am still writing and sharing my thoughts on the Internet. I opened an online shop in 2008 and since then, I have made and sold all sorts of things, including letterpress prints, gocco prints, posters, stationery, art journaling kits, hardbound journals, mixed paper books, rubber stamps & paintings. I also teach eCourses and online workshops on various topics that interest me including blog design, goal-setting, paper crafting & quilting. (See, I am totally all over the map.) The umbrella that holds it all together is the mission statement I drafted years ago on a piece of scratch paper : ELISEJOY creates charming home & paper goods and encourages everyone to develop a crafty, can-do attitude.

My current "big" project is called make29 and I am so passionate about it. It's a birthday and business challenge like nothing I've attempted before and incldes 12 different projects, created and sold in editions of 29 and 290. A new product launches the 22nd of each month for one year. These are limited editions, handmade with care and so special to me. I cannot wait to share them and the stories and process behind each one.

I live in San Diego, California with my two favorite people: my husband, Paul & my daughter, Ellerie. We recently purchased a mid-century style house and I am enjoying coming up with fun DIY decor to fill the space. I adore my backyard garden. I could sew quilts all day long. I watch Arrested Development in a loop. I take photos of my mornings. I am passionate about the concept of just start.
