INTRODUCING MAKE29
I started my blog when I was 20. On February 22 2014, I turned 29. I have been writing and sharing online for my entire 20s. That feels like a Big Deal and I wanted to attempt a birthday challenge & business adventure to celebrate. After much thought I developed this concept. It's twelve handmade and limited edition projects.
One per month for a year.

A lot has changed since I wrote my first post as a 20-year-old in college. But one thing has stayed the same; I still love to make stuff.

HOW IT WORKED
On the 22nd of each month for a year, I released in the shop a new handmade product. Most of the items will be made by me, but some will be commissioned out to fellow crafters who have a unique skill or expertise.

Each project was thoughtfully considered and inspired by something I have loved, made or shared on the blog in the past nine years. I sewed, I knitted, I stamped, I painted. I had items letterpressed, screenprinted and wood-worked. Depending on the item, the products were available in quantities of 29 or 290. Because of the short time-frame and handmade nature, these were special editions and will not be produced or sold again.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO MAKE STUFF
...and this project was truly a celebration of that. This business venture was just what I needed to help me re-find my footing as a maker and business owner. It was an experiment in selling and an exercise in goal-setting and follow through. I learned a lot from this product. One a small scale, I developed some better assembly line techniques and met some great local print resources. On a larger scale, I pushed myself creatively and came up with my next big product, the GET TO WORK BOOK.

You can read more about the projects completed and shop what is left of the limited editions here.

Thank you so much for following my crafting adventures and supporting handmade. This was a very good year and I am so excited for what's to come.
